MEGA DREAM
On Saturday the 12th Mega Dream was sadly put to his final resting place at Ashfield Stud, to end an illustrious career and a beautiful friendship.
An otherwise healthy horse, Mega Dream had struggled for over 3 months with his only ever case of founder. We had sent him to a veterinary facility to have semen collected and frozen and, a testiment to his true nature, he freted being away from home. After being away from home for only a few days, on his return we discovered his pedal bones had dropped caused from his distress giving us little hope at first. He had the very best of vet care, with vets from all over the world contributing to his wellbeing. His comfort was acheived very quickly giving us great hope that he would recover. Unfortunately, after many positive steps the final step was backward and the rest is now history.
His contribution to the western industry in Australia over 20 years as a sire is no less than remarkable, his intellegence and pleasing nature no less than astounding.
The bond we had with this very special horse will go unmatched and we never realized till the end that Mega Dream loved us as much as we loved him. He was the most aptly named horse to ever walk this planet as he was truly a 'MEGA DREAM'. - Mark & Margaret O'Brien & Bill Smith. |
MEGA DREAM is a 1989 Stallion sired by Dreamfinder. Dreamfinder is a National and World Champion, Multi National and World Champion Producer as well as the USA Leading Sire of Halter Horses and an American Hall of Fame inductee. Mega Dream is out of My Little Margie who is an own daughter of The Executive (National Champion, Multi National, World Champion Producer, Hall of Fame Inductee) and she is also a full sister to My Kinda Girl who is a World Champion at both Halter and Produce of Dam and a World Champion Producer. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
